I've voted. It looks like eating and drinking are involved! I'm looking forward to seeing familiar faces, and meeting some new friends.

Re: FMUKCON Manchester - 2014
My sister and I have been planning a trip to Manchester for so long that we're finally getting round to it... but a bit sooner than spring 2014!

Ok, booked a couple of nights in travelodge sportscity, that was the cheapest I found at £23 a night. I know its a tad early but I like looking forward to things.

I know that you enjoy a cake and I have just been told about this place which is expensive but apparently do a lovely afternoon tea in quirky surroundings https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... 7100,d.d2k or from personal experience https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... 7100,d.d2k which is just beautiful inside and the food is divine (fantastic value at £11 for afternoon tea). Even a few of us FMUKers who do like our food struggled to eat everything but we managed.Ms Thrifty wrote:My sister and I have been planning a trip to Manchester for so long that we're finally getting round to it... but a bit sooner than spring 2014!

Thank you for the tip, Diane65 - this definitely requires further investigation! I have to be careful, when others are involved, not to organise too much for them, and as it is I bagged the last 2 theatre tix for one night of our stay before I even booked the hotel and travel, but where cake is concerned, my sister will probably forgive me.

I am sorry but we probably won't make it. It's a week after Alzheimer's Week at one of the centres and a day after OH's birthday. If we'd been in the vicinity that weekend we could have combined it but we'll probably celebrate his birthday instead.

Has everyone voted yet?
I'm chatting to potential venues at the weekend so it would be good to get a rough idea of numbers. Thanks.
