Let's get the motivation going again as I for one need you all. Please feel free to tell me as it is as I'm not very sensitive so can take it.
Good Morning everyone
Pleased to hear that you are over the illness Moggers! and that Alameals' knee issue is not too serious. John Milton - well done on going ten rounds with the heavy bag......there's got to be a joke in there somewhere, but I daren't make it!
Well Done on maintaining the weight Biggins and on the swimming too.
I see that there are quite a few of us (myself included) that seem to be struggling a little with our weight-loss/fitness progress at the moment. Some of us even appear to be putting out calls for group motivation talks

So here goes
Hey, Relax people - I feel certain that with the legendary FMUK WW collective support and encouragement teamed with a little bit of self-control we will all continue to make good overall progress.
I too have snuck a pound on since last Wednesday, but there are several days to go before my next weigh-day, so I'm determined to shift not only that one pound, but another couple as well if at all possible.
The good thing about this forum is that we are a bunch of like minded people with a common aim and a large collective knowledge of how to go about the weight loss game. It's not so much that we don't know what to do, but sometimes we give in to our temptations. That's just human nature - if we do lapse we should just accept it, but be sure to start being good again.
There's only one basic way to lose weight - "Eat Less - Exercise More" - Simple! We don't need a NASA scientist to tell us that! But sometimes it's a good idea to just remind ourselves of a few things that will ease our progress.......
I personally think that it's really good to set a specific target for yourself rather than just think "I'd like to lose some weight" - I base my target on the BMI thing - I want to get down to a BMI of 25 (which is seen as the top end of normal) - If I can do that I won't just be happy - I'll be ecstatic

I'll be organising street parties...... with cake and everything
I'm aiming for between a one pound to two pound weight loss every week, but I'm conscious that the "early" pounds are easier to lose than the later ones. I love making graphs, spreadsheets and charts of planned vs actual progress - it's geeky I know but for me it's a great visual incentive to keep on going especially when the going gets tough.
Other things........
1. Drink more water - it's calorie free and fills you up so you wont want to eat as much food.
2. Eat as many different vegetables as you can.
3. Cut down on some of the stuff that you know is not good for you - sugar. fat (esp saturated fat), high carb stuff, etc
4. Try and eat smaller portions but have them more often.
5. Don't deny yourself the ocassional treat if you fancy it - if you do, you won't live any longer but it will certainly feel like it.
6. Don't sit around feeling hungry and thinking about food, get yourself involved with something to take your mind off yourself. Go for a walk, run , cycle, swim, garden, decorate, have a walk around the shops etc.
Sorry if that all sounds pretentious and pious nonsense and teaching granny to suck eggs - i'm not putting myself forward as an expert dieting know-it all honestly, I'm just trying to chip in with a few things that have helped me both this year and last year.
