Re: FMUKCON Manchester - Saturday 5th April 2014
What more to add, thank you everyone for making the effort to come to Manchester's event and making it so special (and for finding us now we've moved to the Midlands - courtesy of MrGlass
)
And a massive thank you for all the posts and messages thanking myself and everyone else for organising the weekend.
It was of course a team effort, but Diane65 really does make the Manchester arm of FMUK tick - from Christmas meals to monthly cake afternoons at John Lewis to of course FMUKCON she is always at the centre of things and helps us all immensely with organisation and ideas for the next cool thing to do.
MrGlass and our new honorary member Julie the landlady did us proud on Friday, so much so that no one cared that the weather didn't behave and allow to see the stars as planned.
I still find it amazing and wonderful that a few years after randomly googling tickets for some film, Date Night or Baby Mama I think, I stumbled across this site filled with kindness, information and so many fantastic people and it was great to see old friends again and meet new FMUKers this weekend, a final thanks to steve9872 for my FMUK badge I will wear it with pride

Re: FMUKCON Manchester - Saturday 5th April 2014
When I get a moment, will try and read this thread!
In the meantime, just want to add my thanks too, to everyone who contributed to the event, be it in the preparation and organising the event, the Manchester FMUK for their wonderful assistance and hospitality, all those bringing things to swap and prizes for the quiz, Yogi, the quizmaster, MrG for the side trip to Glossop and the trek and his landlady, Julie, for whipping up such a superb meal at such short notice; Yogi's preparation of the Grand National sweepstake (I mentioned to Diane65 on the day, only to find that Yogi had gone and prepared it all, fantastic!), Diane65, ever present, making sure everything was going to plan, and everyone who came and helped made this such a memorable FMUKCON. Had a fabulous two days, lovely meeting up with new FMUKers and catching up with everyone. Now hundreds of photos to sort.
So looking forward to the next one in Edinburgh!!

I missed out on the carrot cake
After I walked you guys back to the station (in the 20mins as promised
), I actually ran back up that hill because I really wanted to grab one of those cakes but by the time I reached they had packed the remainder away
OK, I see I am getting more stick again for my lack of Geography, lol. It might actually help to know that I failed my GCSE geography with a glowing F, literally :) Sorry North Westerners, I'm truly embarrassed...again
And Steve, yeah, its amazing I am still alive! I forgot about mentioning the fact I b*ght a Manchester United cap, in Manchester City...and there was a home game! I really wished I clicked on and b*ght the City cap instead as I b*ght the cap to wear in the rain, lol. I've called you a Midlander and shoved Man U in your face, Steve...next time you see me, punch my face!.

Look here, Mr G, you are always harping on about eating well in the Weight Watchers thread, you cannot seriously moan about having missed cake now!
