A slow moving film, but well worth it in the end. An excellent mystery drama, with an all-star cast, Jim Broadbent, Charlotte Rampling, Harriet Walther ("The Crown") and Michelle Dockery ("Downton Abbey"). It is quite complicated and looks back to an event that happened 50 years earlier as a memory re-told by Jim Broadbent, trying to learn the secret that Charlotte Rampling, a girl who he dated at University, seems to hold.
A bit of tedium at the beginning, with the letter he receives, "will he, won't he", open and read this blasted letter, which starts the chain of events. A thought provoking film. We all reminisce, we all have memories, but is what we remember accurate. Bit by bit, the truth unfolds. 8/10
