I agree.

You should first see it knowing as little as possible, although I'm looking forward to reading up on it before my 2nd viewing, as I think it will be just as rewarding, but a very different experience.
I like how the spoilers in some of the posts are starting to resemble the dream within a dream within a dream structure of the film. Very meta.
I saw this last night at Empire Leicester Square (Screen 3 I think it was, it wasn't the MASSIVE screen 1, that's for sure! lol). I had not been to screen 3 before, but it did look like the smaller, budget version of the main screen. :giggle: Staff seemed very eager to get as many people into the screen as possible, and were telling people to 'move down pls, don't leave any spaces'. During the film security who told us to 'turn our molbiles off pls', was pacing up and down the left aisle watching us, most likely for those silly enough to try and pirate the film.
Have to say I was quite disappointed by the film. I think my hopes were too high for it and as I was watching, did not deliver. :( You really need to p*y attention to the film, it's not one to just show up and watch. Concentration is key.
The scene where the team all get together and talk about the plan was very brief and although everything was explained in that short time, was very quick and did not give me enough time to fully understand, was still processing that scene to get a better understanding but the film has to continue its course. Maybe that's the directors intention, that the audience understand as you watch the film, instead of having to explain it all. Or was it just me?? :shifty: And I'm sorry, but how LONG did it take for the van to hit the water after it drove off the bridge?
I've heard this film being compared to the Matrix, and would have to disagree this comparison. The only similarity between them is the concept of 'reality and fiction'. The effects were good, but the story was very long and deep and with sadly nothing much to the fight scenes, though I know it's not really an action film.

Bf and I thought
the spinning top was going to topple over at the end, as it made that noise they usually do before falling
6.5/7 from me.
Preferred cinemas: All Central London: APOLLO Piccadilly, EMPIRE Leicester Sq; ODEONS: Leicester Sq/Covent Garden/West End/Whiteleys/Panton St; VUE: West End/Fulham/Islington, CINEWORLD: Haymarket/Shaftesbury Ave; Brixton Ritzy,
Then: Westfield, o2, Clapham
This is because dreamtime is longer than realtime
I really enjoyed it and will definitely watch it again; g/f wasn't overly impressed but not sure she's the target audience. Nolan can do no wrong in my eyes.

We were on the end of a row (Manchester screening) with a security man stood watching us the whole time. It was pretty off-putting, which is a shame because the screen itself was excellent (as usual)

The reason the van took ages was that:
Reality - all of them in the plane - all real time
Dream layer 1 - all in the van, being shot at, then van crashing down into the water.
Dream layer 2 - in the snowy mountains, trying to get at that massive vault
Dream layer 3 - at the hotel, where they're in the hotelroom and later arthur is trying to give them the 'kick' with the elevator free-fall

If you remember, when cobb was explaining to ariadne(the first time he showed her about extraction/inception/dreaming) about the timing - a couple of minutes in real time = 5 minutes in dream time = 5 weeks in dream layer 2 time = 5 months in dream layer 3 = 50 years in dream layer 4....and so on........ok, my numbers aren't accurate but you get the picture :giggle:

You've got dream layer 2 and 3 the wrong way round. Blimey now I'm getting really confused :wall:
