This discussion makes this Einstein quote come to mind

"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it."

I feel your pain Wolverina...... ;)

My dream jobs, in no particular order are:

1. Restaurant critic... just eating for a living o/ or an opera critic.

2. Failing 1 a crisp tester for Kettle Chips or Tyrells any handcooked chips.

3. Failing 2 a crisp tester for Pickled Onion Monster Munch.

4. A chat show host... invite a few stars who are up their own ar*es and take the pee out of them.

5. Chelsea's football manager. All I do is say 4-4-2 boys. Win-win situation: I get pa*d loads of money, and if I'm good fans would say 'she's good for a girl', if I'm cr*p, I wouldn't care because I support Arsenal and I'd get pa*d loads of money to leave.

6. In reality, for some strange reason, I've always wanted to present the news. Don't ask me why.

That sounds a bit like me. I'm just finishing up my PhD now, still running around trying to get lab work finished and writing up my thesis (it's driving me a bit mad). I do love what I do but it can all get a bit much at times. I've not had time for free films in ages :( I'm not really looking forward to job hunting in a couple of months, there doesn't seem to be much postdoctoral stuff popping up in my field at the moment.

I'd love to be a travel journalist too. My other dreams are to be a photographer (mainly music photography) or a musician. Unfortunately I play guitar and a few other instruments pretty poorly and don't have the best voice, so the second one wont happen.

I guess when we stucked in the lab all day long, travelling is an escape for us. Sometimes I miss looking at the sunset  . But good luck with your writing, I wish I'm at your stage now. Can't wait to get it all done Image
