According to Variety, Steve Carell has signed onto star in and produce the upcoming romantic comedy A Boyfriend for My Wife, a remake of the popular 2008 Argentine film Un Novio Para Mi Mujer.
Steve Carell will make the film through his own Carousel Productions, which will be distributed by Warner Bros. Writers Mark Gibson and Philip Halprin are adapting the original screenplay for American audiences.
The storyline revolves around a shy, dissatisfied husband (Steve Carell) who is too afraid to ask for a divorce, so instead, he sets out to find his wife a new lover. He eventually enlists the help of a legendary yet unlikely lothario, and things don't necessarily go according to the plan.
Due out: 2012

John Cusack has confirmed he is set to play Edgar Allan Poe in a new murder mystery.
The High Fidelity actor will star as the horror writer in director James McTeigue's forthcoming The Raven, a fictionalised account of Poe's mysterious last days chasing a serial killer.
In a post on his Twitter.come page, Cusack announces: "Official I will play Edgar Allen Poe in fall. A film called The Raven, send any Poe gold my way as I begin this journey into the abyss."
Ewan McGregor and Jeremy Renner were previously in talks for the project but their parts were not specified. It is unclear if either actor is still involved.
The period thriller is due to begin filming in autumn and is set to hit theatres next year.

Harrison Ford is desperate for Sir Sean Connery to reprise his role as Indiana Jones' father in the next blockbuster about the famed archaeologist.
Connery played Indy's father in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade', and recently spoke warmly about his work on the film.
He told the Daily Record, "I was working with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. The teamwork was special. It was a great adventure and Harrison Ford and Denholm Elliot were wonderful actors. I had so much fun."
Now retired, Connery couldn't be tempted back to the series in 2008's 'Kingdom of the Crystal Skull'. However, Ford is reportedly hoping to change his mind for the fifth 'Indiana Jones' adventure.
An insider told the Daily Express, "Everyone is keen to get Sean back as Professor Henry Jones Senior. They wanted him back for the last movie.
"Everyone's hopeful he'll agree to reprise the role even in a small way. I hear Harrison Ford has been sending gifts to try to convince him. I think he could go for it. It would be on his terms."
Ford and Shia LeBeouf, who played Indy's son in the last film, have both revealed recently that work has begun on the script.

Mark Strong for Unknown Role in 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy'. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS!!
As if the ensemble cast of Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, and Tom Hardy wasn't reason enough to be interested in the adaptation of John Le Carre's spy novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, from director Tomas Alfredson (Let the Right One In), another actor has joined the mix. The Daily Mail reports (via The Playlist) that Mark Strong (Sherlock Holmes, Kick-Ass) has landed an unknown role in the thriller following a big spy hunt within the highest echelons of the British Secret Intelligence Service. Russian actress Svetlana Khodchenkova also joins the cast.

Re: Movie Gossip and News
'Sherlock Holmes' screenwriter Anthony Peckham has signed on to pen the latest Jack Ryan adventure. Peckham, who has also worked on 'Invictus' and 'Book of Eli', will be on scribing duties for the Jack Ryan reboot - the main character from Tom Clancy's hugely successful spy novels.
The character was first played by Alec Baldwin in 1990's 'The Hunt for Red October', before being replaced by Harrison Ford in 'Patriot Games' and 'Clear and Present Danger'.
A previous reboot - Ben Affleck's 'The Sum of All Fears', wasn't the huge hit expected. The new version, which will follow Ryan's early CIA adventures, will feature 'Star Trek's Chris Pine in the lead role.
Jack Bender, who directed several 'Lost' and 'Supernatural' episodes, will direct the thriller.

Re: Movie Gossip and News
Development of a cinematic version of the hit HBO TV series ‘True Blood’ has begun.
HBO’s hit TV series True Blood recently concluded its 3rd season and now its makers have something else in mind, besides a 4th season chock-full of freaky violence and naked vampires – a full-length movie.
Work has begun on the task of bringing True Blood to the big screen, which would likely not happen until after at least another season of the show has aired. Series creator Alan Ball is reportedly eying the film adaptation as a potential directing vehicle for himself.
Does anyone think that this adult-rated vampire show will make the leap from TV to film? I've never watched an episode, so am not really able to comment.
Any thoughts?

Re: Movie Gossip and News
i think it should have been a movie in the first place! the books are far too complex to explain in a series, however ido like the fact that it can be more thoroughly enjoyed through the series
i would definitely opt for a movie if the contract insists that alexander skarsgard has to takle off his top every 10 mins of screen time

In July 2011, audiences will see Jennifer Aniston’s naughty side. In the comedy, Horrible Bosses, she plays a sexually rapacious dentist who resorts to blackmailing an employee so he cheats on his fiancée and has sex with her. She talks dirty and plays dirtier in the film, which co-stars Colin Farrell and Kevin Spacey as the titular, unbearable bosses.
Well this will make a change from Rachel, won't it?
