Directed by Nick Hamm.
Starring: Ben Barnes, Robert Sheehan, Pete Postlethwaite, Krysten Ritter, Martin McCann.

Plot: Neil McCormick, a punk schoolboy in Dublin in the 1970s wants to be famous, more than famous, he’s certain his destiny is to be a rock god. He and his little brother Ivan have it all worked out: the platinum albums, the stadium concerts, the screaming girls, the quest for world peace. There’s one thing they hadn’t counted on, the small boy quietly sitting on the other side of the classroom has plans of his own. And his name is Bono. And there’s another thing, Bono tells Neil he wants Ivan for his band. And Neil’s not going to tell him…

Just watched the trailer, I must admit it looks really funny. Good to see Pete Postlethwaite. I managed to get a couple of tickets for next week, I can't wait.

Had 2 tickets to see this in Belfast, but Virgin Media have cancelled the screening - was really looking forward to this too. Ah well at least they offered me 2 free cinema tickets in place of this, so can't be too full of sour grapes! The Belfast film festival are showing this as their opening night premiere the day after the supposed screening - wonder did that have something to do with it......

They are putting up barriers outside the Apollo Piccadilly Circus for the premiere tonight. Never seen barriers for the Apollo at Piccadilly Circus. They must be expecting someone like Ben Barnes

Maybe for the "celebrities" they are expecting that aren't in the movie but are attending? Ben Barnes didn't need barriers when he was doing Birdsong just a few steps away from Picadilly Circus...

Ben Barnes and Robert Sheehan were on Radio 1 a few hours ago promoting this and they are definitely attending the premiere.

I guess he needs a few barriers to protect him tonight.

An apology e-mail has been sent now saying that the reminder was automated, ie the film is still cancelled. Also saying that the free tickets will be posted this week. :D
I'd got the cancellation e-mail a few days ago asking for my address & I was a bit wary as noboby here had reported receiving the same e-mail - could have been a scam. I'm sorry the screening's been cancelled as I was really looking forward to it but it was really nice of them to offer us free tickets.
BTW the film festival have released another 15 tickets for the opening night.
