Re: Riddick

Out of curiosity what were your expectations?

Personally I've always liked the character and even enjoyed Chronicles despite its well known shortcomings.

Damn, there was me being buoyed by the initial reviews on Rotten Tomatoes...

Re: Black Dynamite

Shame it took so long for it to get a cinematic release over here as it's been on DVD in the US for ages.

Re: Hot tub time machine

Came to see the film with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised.

I actually got a chuckle or 2 from some of the gags as I don't laugh easily even when watching a comedy.

Overall thought it was entertaining enough albeit it was predictable and silly at times.

Re: Iron Man 2

I thought it was good but not as good as the first film sadly. The film was a little uneven and dragged out 2 much in some scenes. Most of the peformances are pretty good but I found Rourke's Vanko a little neglected especially at the end. I think the pressure of doing this whole Avengers ensemble ...

Re: The Wolfman

The film was ok neither terrible or great as I just found the plot to be messy in a few scenes.

I didn't find it particularly scary either but just more of a typical blood n gore fest. I'd give it a 6/10.

Re: Up

Typical high production quality from Pixar, and the best film I've seen for a while so it gets an 8/10 from me :).

Re: The Invention of Lying

Saw this on friday and I found it to be pretty poor and was quite tempted to leave the cinema because it was that bad for me lol. Maybe Gervais fans will look upon the film more favourably but the plot seemed weak and any good jokes were few in number. My advice would be to avoid or at most watch it ...

Re: District 9

I liked the mockumentary style of the film and pretty impressive production for a meager $30 millions compared to contemporary big film budgets. I like how the film goes against the current trend of having the CGI supplement the story rather than the other way around. Although I found Wikus ...

Re: Mesrine : Killer Instinct

I saw this last night and it was an entertaining film overall.

I enjoyed the humour in the film but some of the plot holes and cliched moments detracted from it for me.

Especially with Cassel's Mesrine who may come off as either unashamedly audacious or just incredibly stupid.
